NWO-subsidie voor Eindhovense onderzoeker

Prof.dr.ir. Geert –Jan van Houtum van de faculteit Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences krijgt van NWO een TOP subsidie van bijna acht ton. Met dat geld gaat hij onderzoek doen naar het verbeteren van logistieke systemen en optimaal gebruik van dure machines en vervoersmiddelen.

De toegekende subsidie maakt deel van het zogeheten MaGW programma (Gebiedsbestuur Maatschappij- en Gedragswetenschappen) van NWO. Dat is gericht op de topsectoren logistiek en creatieve industrie en focust zich ook op de sociale infrastructuur agenda. New MSc elective Course: Green Supply Chain Management (1CM65).

This Fall (2013), a new elective course will be given to cover the important and emerging area of green supply chains. The course will be taught by Tarkan Tan, Jan Fransoo, Yann Bouchery and Simme-Douwe Flapper. The course will in the sustainability domain, including life cycle analysis, carbon footprinting, carbon-efficient supply chains, and closed-loop supply chains. If you want to include this course on your elective list, please update your electives package. The course is open to both OML and IM students (provided the latter have sufficient background knowledge in OR.

On February 27th the (eSCF) together with the Student Supply Chain Forum (sSCF), organized what is the preface of the Speed-dating event; an event that has the objective to match ‘best in class’ students at TUe with companies involved in complex supply chain operations, in order to improve their practices. Prof. dr.
